IMPORTANCE OF LINKTREE

IMPORTANCE OF LINKTREE for MBA

What is Linktree

Linktree is a tool that offers you a customizable landing page (with its own link), think micro web page, that links to all of your social media platforms or important links.

You can then use your Linktree link on all of your social media platforms. For example, in the website field in your Instagram bio, you’d copy and paste your Linktree link.

Linktree is a tool that allows you to share multiple links on social media, but it rose to prominence on Instagram. This is because Instagram does not allow you to share web links anywhere apart from in Stories and in the ‘bio’ section of your profile page, which has a strict character limit. Users therefore had to find another way to direct their followers to their websites or other social channels.

How it Works

Your followers or readers click your Linktree link. They then arrive at your Linktree page which displays individual links to

whatever you’ve chosen to display, like links to your blog or where to find you on Snapchat, Facebook, TikTok or YouTube.

And Voila! Your followers or readers can then click on those individual links to go directly to that content.

It basically creates a simple landing page that hosts multiple links. You then pop the link to this landing page in your Instagram bio in order to drive traffic to specific areas of your site.

Linktree’s available features are divided into two tiers – a free tier and a ‘pro’ paid tier.

Free features

A free account gives you a decent haul of features. Without paying a penny, you can embed as many links as you wish onto your Linktree landing page, including links to TikTok, YouTube and Clubhouse Rooms.

You can also use it to collect payments from your followers. This is particularly useful if you are trying to cultivate your followers into giving you tips and donations for your content.

A certain amount of customisation is also permitted for free thanks to a selection of built-in themes.

Analytics haven’t been forgotten either and you can easily track how many views

The Pros of Linktree

  • It’s free, unless you opt for PRO features.

  • You get one bio link that houses links to all of your content in one place.

  • It’s simple and quick to open an account, set up your links, and paste the Linktree link into your Instagram (or other social media) website field so you can share your content with your readers.

  • Gives you a way to add more than one “link” in Instagram, which currently only allows you to link one website in the bio.

  • You get to see cool stats. Like clicks. Wow, my followers are actually clicking through to check out my blog.

  • Linktree and Amazon integration means you could potentially earn more money from affiliate links.

Should I use Linktree?

It is super simple to use, so if you’re looking to share more links on Instagram without setting up your own website, definitely give it a try.

However, if you have your own site, we recommend creating your own Linktree-style landing page. This means you can direct traffic to your own website, bypassing Linktree altogether.
