What is a Directory?
A directory is simply a folder. That's it. No complicated definition needed.
Just like you keep your clothes in different drawers — one for shirts, one for socks, one for towels — a computer keeps files in different directories. This helps in finding things quickly, keeping related files together, and avoiding a big mess of thousands of files sitting in one place.
Every website, every app, and every operating system uses directories to stay organized behind the scenes.
