Gender Differences at Workplace by Janhavi Sawant HR Manager Aircrews Aviation Pvt.Ltd

Gender Differences at Workplace
Gender differences in the workplace typically stem from social factors, which influence the behaviors of men and women. Some organizations welcome gender diversity and encourage the inclusion of both sexes when making company decisions and offering promotional opportunities. Other organizations discourage gender inclusion and promote bias in the workplace. With most companies, gender differences add value and varying perspectives to an organization.
There may be various factors for discrimination and women face that throughout their life and career.
For decades women have been fighting for equal pay in the workplace. Women from Corporates, Media and Entertainment, Sports all have come forward and voiced their experience of being paid less than their male counterparts. The wage gap between men and women exists in every industry. Inspite of awareness and protests, not much change has been made to this system. This discrimination may be done on the social beliefs that exist in the orthodox society.
Several organizations still don't have women in power for the same reason. Women are not trusted with higher positions. Even in our political system, women had to fight for their rights and reservation.
The entertainment industry has been quite aware of this discrimination with Male centric movies ruling the box office for decades.
One of the reasons that women are discriminated against is they have family to look after. Organizations shy away from hiring pregnant women, married women as they believe they won’t be dedicated enough. Innumerable women have time and again proved that they can perform excellently while maintaining a work-life balance.
Women have to work twice as hard as men to prove their worth in their workplace.
Hopefully, this situation is slowing and steadily changing with companies taking steps to eliminate the discrimination. Here are some changes that can be brought to make the workplace better and provide equal treatment to everyone:
Support women into senior roles
Companies should not avoid employing women at senior positions. There should not be any doubt as long as the candidate whether a man or woman is competent.
Standardize the pay for everyone across all roles. Frequently review salaries and decide basis on certain factors like education, experience, etc.
Companies should have clear policies against discrimination on the basis of gender. There must be consequences involved if a person has discriminated against someone.
Encourage gender-neutral recruitment processes. Create and implement them into the company
Communication and transparency are the keys to achieve equality.

-By Manisha Routray

A lot of people complain that they cannot reach their dreams, travel to exotic locations, land their dream jobs, finish their projects before the deadline, get enough sleep every night, and spend enough time with loved ones because they don’t have enough time.
It’s not limited time that’s the problem, it’s bad time management.
Time management isn’t merely an art – it’s an entire artistic discipline. Being a manager is tough – no argument there! Sometimes, during a normal day, little fires spark up that inevitably change the entire trajectory of our team’s work.
All managers should have proper Time Management skill to help to achieve the goal faster, its helps the manager to work more in less time,It helps manager to waste less time, and avoid more friction and problems.
It helps manager to feel calmer and less stressed over time,It helps manager to make a change in their lifestyle for the better.
so, effective Time Management skill is important for managers so that they can have positive impact on their work and life in general.
When we learn to take control of our time on a daily basis, we improve our ability to get things done, make better decisions and most importantly, gain ultimate control of our key priorities.
