It’s the season of layoffs. The world is stunned to see big techs such as Meta and Twitter sacking employees, but the Indian startup world too has had its share of bad news. Add to this the absolutely low level of empathy shown by the companies while handling such situations. Take the case of a recent sacking by one of the leading edtech players in India. The staff alleged that the company resorted to unethical means forcing them to sign pre-drafted resignation letters. As if this was not enough, the company also hired bouncers to handle any untoward situation as workers were suddenly asked to leave.

How to tell legitimate mystery shopping companies and mystery shopping scams apart:

As a rule of thumb, it’s good to keep the following pointers in mind and avoid companies that:

Require that you pay for “certification.”

Guarantee a job as a mystery shopper.

Charge a fee for access to mystery shopping opportunities.

Sell directories of companies that hire mystery shoppers.

Ask you to deposit a check and wire some or all of the money to someone.

Not all companies that employ any or all of these tactics are necessarily scams, but on the side of caution and understand what a genuine mystery shopping company looks like.

Most legitimate companies recruit their shoppers directly from their website, or through legitimate channels such as their social media accounts – only very rarely will they use newspaper ads or direct emails.

In addition, legitimate mystery shopping companies don’t require you to pay a registration or certification fee; they simply ask you to sign up to their platforms so they can keep you apprised of any open visits.

Further, they have a screening process: just because you’ve signed up doesn’t mean that you’ll automatically get a visit. Most companies will use a type of test, to make sure that your language skills are up to

scratch – after all, you’ll be recording data for them, it helps if everyone knows what you’re saying – and I know that here at AQ, we also require our shoppers to complete a questionnaire that proves a competent

understanding of the visit manual (the guideline that tells you how exactly to complete the shop in question). Any company that guarantees you work straight off the bat, is likely to be a scam.

Legitimate mystery shopping companies won’t charge you to access their shop boards; this beats the point for them after all, they recruited you to fill their shops, why make it so difficult for you to do so easily?

Nor will they ask you to deposit cheques or wire money. At most, there’ll be a restaurant shop in which you pay for your meal and get a reimbursement up to a certain amount.

Another good thing to remember is that most mystery shops don’t pay heaps. Depending on the type of shop, you may get $5 to $20. Most mystery shoppers do their visits beside their day jobs to earn a little

extra cash.

Some important things related to eclipse -

Sutak (eclipse-perforation) starts three prahars (9 hours) before the lunar eclipse starts.

Example -

Eclipse timings in Ahmedabad - 6-00 pm to 6-18 pm

Sutak starts in Ahmedabad - from 9-00 am

Food should not be taken after the start of Sutak. But children, old people, sick and pregnant women can eat it till one and a half prahar (four and a half hours) before the eclipse starts.

The substances in which Kush, Sesame or Tulsi leaves are put before the Sutak, those substances are not contaminated. But by renouncing the cooked food, it should be prepared by adding cow, dog and new food.

Before starting the Sutak, put Kusha, Sesame or Tulsi leaves in the water so that it can be used for drinking etc. if necessary during the Sutak period.

It is forbidden to take food or water from the beginning of the eclipse till the end.

At the time of an eclipse, a person suffers from degeneration from eating, sick from sleeping, poor by having a short-sightedness, worms due to defecation, pigs by having sex with a woman and applying rubbish to a person becomes leprosy.

On the occasion of eclipse, all the merit accumulated for 12 years is destroyed by eating the food of others.

At the end of the eclipse, one should take a bath with the clothes worn.

🌹 चंद्रग्रहण प्रारम्भ होने से तीन प्रहर (9 घंटे) पूर्व सूतक (ग्रहण-वेध) प्रारम्भ हो जाता है ।

अहमदाबाद में ग्रहण समय - शाम 6-00 से 6-18 तक

अहमदाबाद में सूतक प्रारम्भ - सुबह 9-00 बजे से

🌹 सूतक प्रारम्भ होने के बाद भोजन नहीं करना चाहिए । परंतु बालक, वृद्ध, रोगी और गर्भवती महिलायें ग्रहण प्रारम्भ होने से डेढ़ प्रहर (साढ़े चार घंटे) पूर्व तक खा सकते हैं ।

🌹 सूतक के पहले जिन पदार्थों में कुश, तिल या तुलसी की पत्तियाँ डाल दी जाती हैं, वे पदार्थ दूषित नहीं होते । परंतु पके हुए अन्न का त्याग करके उसे गाय, कुत्ते को डालकर नया भोजन बनाना चाहिए ।

🌹 सूतक प्रारम्भ होने से पहले पानी में कुशा, तिल या तुलसीपत्र डाल के रखें ताकि सूतककाल में आवश्यक होने पर उसे पीने आदि में उपयोग ला सकें ।

🌹 ग्रहण शुरु होने से अंत तक अन्न या जल ग्रहण करना निषिद्ध है ।

🌹 ग्रहण के समय भोजन करने से अधोगति, सोने से रोगी, लघुशंका करने से दरिद्र, मल त्यागने से कीड़ा, स्त्री-प्रसंग करने से सूअर और उबटन लगाने से व्यक्ति कोढ़ी होता है ।

🌹 ग्रहण के अवसर में दूसरे का अन्न खाने से 12 वर्षों का एकत्र किया हुआ सब पुण्य नष्ट हो जाता है ।

🌹 ग्रहण समाप्त होने पर पहने हुए वस्त्रों सहित स्नान करना चाहिए ।

तीन महीने के बच्चे को

दाई के पास रखकर

जॉब पर जाने वाली माँ को

दाई ने पूछा ~

कुछ रह तो नहीं गया ?

पर्स, चाबी सब ले लिया ना ?

अब वो कैसे हाँ कहे ?

पैसे के पीछे भागते-भागते

सब कुछ पाने की ख्वाहिश में

वो जिसके लिये सब कुछ कर रही है,

वही रह गया है !

शादी में दुल्हन को बिदा करते ही

शादी का हॉल खाली करते हुए

दुल्हन की बुआ ने पूछा ~

भैया, कुछ रह तो नहीं गया ना ?

चेक करो ठीक से ..!

बाप चेक करने गया, तो

दुल्हन के रूम में

कुछ फूल सूखे पड़े थे.

सब कुछ तो पीछे रह गया.

21 साल जो नाम लेकर

जिसको आवाज देता था, लाड़ से,

वो नाम पीछे रह गया, और

उस नाम के आगे गर्व से

जो नाम लगाता था,

वो नाम भी पीछे रह गया अब.

भैया, देखा ?

कुछ पीछे रह तो नहीं गया ?

बुआ के इस सवाल पर

आँखों में आये आँसू छुपाता बाप

जुबाँ से तो नहीं बोला, पर दिल में

एक ही आवाज थी ~

सब कुछ तो यहीं रह गया .!

बड़ी तमन्नाओं के साथ बेटे को

पढ़ाई के लिए विदेश भेजा था,

और वह पढ़कर वहीं सैटल हो गया.

पौत्र जन्म पर बमुश्किल

3 माह का वीजा मिला था,

और चलते वक्त बेटे ने प्रश्न किया ~

सब कुछ चेक कर लिया ना ?

कुछ रह तो नहीं गया ?

क्या जबाब देते, कि अब

अब छूटने को बचा ही क्या है ..!

थोड़ा रूका, और सोचा कि

पूरी जिन्दगी तो

यहीं आने-जाने में बीत गई.

फिर से गर्दन घुमाई,

एक बार पीछे देखने के लिए ...

पिता की चिता की

सुलगती आग देखकर

मन भर आया.

भागते हुए गया

झलक तलाशने की

असफल कोशिश की ....

और वापिस लौट आया.

दोस्त ने पूछा ~

कुछ रह गया था क्या ?

भरी आँखों से बोला ~

नहीं , कुछ भी नहीं रहा अब.

और जो कुछ भी रह गया है,

वह सदा मेरे साथ रहेगा .!

शायद ... पुराना समय याद आ जाए,

आँखें भर आएं, और
